  • Fishing
  • Traditional games (Piaji, Chinese Chess/Xiangqi, Go/Weiqi)Gardening

Chinese is introduced in each of the activities through experiential learning. For instance, on a nature walk, counselors will explain some of the items campers discover in both English and Chinese. However, as educators, we understand that simple introduction to the words isn't enough. Repetition of these items throughout the day through songs, explanations and simple usage will help reinforce these words and phrases for your child.

It is important to note that this is not a full immersion program where your child will become fluent in Mandarin Chinese in two weeks. While your child will be more knowledgeable of different phrases in Chinese, our main goal is to expose campers to the Chinese language and culture while having fun, making new friends, and learning more about themselves and the world around them.

Campers will a knowledge of Mandarin Chinese will have ample opportunities to participate in full immersion activities and programs. Campers with no knowledge of or limited proficiency in Mandarin Chinese will have a more gradual start with a few full immersion opportunities by the end of the second week.
